How many playlists can you have on an ipod shuffle

Yes, you can do this with a playlist folder, which is similar to a folder in the Finder, in that it can contain other playlists and subfolders. This adds an empty folder called untitled folder. You can double-click that default name and give the folder a better name. Next, find the playlists you want and drag them onto the folder. So, all the tracks from the first playlist will appear first, then the tracks from the second playlist, and so on. You can play music from this folder by clicking the Play button a right-pointing arrow , or you can click an individual playlist to access only the tracks it contains.

Is this possible? I would like for my friend to be able to download it to his iPhone. Sharing playlists that contain music from the iTunes Store used to be possible from within iTunes, but for some reason Apple removed the feature even though it left up a page that describes how to do so. Now, unfortunately, the only thing you can do is to gift each track individually. Note: The triple-click on the center button while you are in shuffle mode re-shuffles the songs for shuffle playback, but the loading sequence is not changed.

Alternatively, I googled the idea and someone wrote that they may have limited this feature because of the potential of the product taking market share of another.

Thanks again for your help. Jul 3, AM in response to slitt In response to slitt That's not the reason. It's because the shuffle has no screen. Apple does not typically design products with features that most people would find difficult to use. What I explained with the "triple clicking the center button" is complicated enough Can you imagine explaining and remembering how to navigate between multiple playlists using only buttons and no screen? Easily: double click on forward or reverse buttons for playlist change. Apple could also provide spoken audio feedback Just as clicking five times quickly advances five songs. But you could make it double-clicking and holding on the second click, or something else that's convoluted. I'm not saying it can't be designed. I'm saying Apple won't do it because most people would not use that feature. Many shuffle users don't even know that pressing and holding those buttons is fast forward and fast rewind within the song.

And without a screen, you'd have to remember what was on each playlist. Apple could also provide spoken audio feedback The shuffle is just a tiny dumb cheap playback device.

It does not have enough CPU power to do voice recognition. And if it did, it would be the next gen iPod nano minus screen and cost as much. You can choose them by name on your iPod shuffle. So this must be a 3rd gen shuffle that does not have control buttons on the shuffle itself.

Though the iPod shuffle does not have a screen like other iPod models, the method for downloading songs to your device is the same as with other devices in the iPod family: you connect it to your computer and then sync it with your iTunes library. To charge the battery using your computer: When the battery is charging, the status light on iPod shuffle is orange. When the battery is fully charged, the status light turns green.

If you see this, try turning off iPod shuffle, waiting a few seconds, and then turning it back on. Wait for at least an hour. Compare the model number to the different generations.
